Give each level a purpose.
The design explores a series of useful landings instead of treating the slope as one continuous problem. Broad steps connect them, and the smaller terrace creates a place to sit within the garden.
Use contrast to define the space.
Pale concrete provides a quiet backdrop for grasses and gray-green planting. Slim black metal details give the edges definition without blocking the view through the landscape.
Resolve the structure first.
Retaining walls and changes in level require site-specific assessment. Soil, wall loads, drainage, handrails and permitting would determine what can be built and which specialists need to be involved.
